I also had a public call for submissions and received 330 submissions from which I chose 15 or 16 of the essays. In terms of the order, I just went with my gut instinct. I started the collection with Aubrey Hirsch's essays because it encapsulated, so well, what rape culture is about and why it is so terrible for women.
